The Vancouver Fair Tax Coalition (VFTC) is a non-partisan group of local business improvement associations; small business owners and managers; industrial and office property owners and developers; and business associations, which represent thousands of local businesses from across the City of Vancouver. The Coalition is lead by a dedicated and talented group of volunteers.
VFTC members are concerned about the high municipal property taxes they pay and the inequitable allocation of the tax burden between residential and commercial real estate. As a result they are seeking the City of Vancouver’s commitment to permanently bring municipal property taxes into line with regional and national averages.
The VFTC believes attracting new employers to Vancouver is vital, but retaining and growing the businesses already here is just as important. They are established Vancouver businesses that are committed to investing in the city, employing Vancouverites, and supporting communities. A city grounded in sustainable economic principles is in the interest of all its citizens and it is our goal to be a voice for long term change that will allow our city to grow and thrive for future generations.
